What does design of a website mean?

Website design is the development of a visual interface image. This is not just a picture, but a visual system, which consists of composition, typography, color scheme, interactions etc. Good design allows a user to interact more easily with the interface and makes them happy.

From the point of view of business, the design tasks may be different: a need to cause the user to associate with certain brand properties (quality, prestige), it can direct the user's attention to the execution of the script and minimize the remaining visual noise, or just lead to one specific target action. Process of creating a design varies depending on the goal.

Our aim is to successfully realize the client's business goals, by building the right visual interface system.

How we make good web-design

  1. In the design process, we are guided by design technologies that have been honed at over 100 projects: attention management, correct compositions, color solutions, typography and other visual rules.
  2. We advocate a data-driven design approach. This means that we focus on business goals and user needs when making decisions and do not just work as "dumb machines". We can justify each and every interface decision.
  3. We come to design not as a set of pictures, but as a visual system - everything is organized: color scheme, font scheme, padding system, etc. This causes a sense of visual order when using the interface and does not cause irritation.
  4. Design is not a set of static screens, but an interaction with the interface. We are working on animations and interactive elements to make this experience enjoyable.
  5. We follow the latest trends in design and set ourselves to make the best design in a niche. In addition, we make sure that the design is resilient to “aging” and it looks relevant for several years.
  6. We use only official and unique materials. If necessary, we are ready to attract a photographer or illustrator. This is necessary to avoid the situation when you and the competitor have the same picture on the site taken from free stock gallery.

  1. The design process begins with the development of a prototype. Any web product can be divided into UX (user experience) and UI (user interface). Strategic and logical part of the web-based product can be best worked out in the form of prototypes. Goal of design is to make a convenient, correct and attractive UI. Prototype helps designer to concentrate on the visual part of the project.
  2. Collection of requirements and goal setting. At this stage we meet with the client, listen to all wishes and requirements, we collect the available visual materials. Based on this information, the task is described and handed to the design team.
  3. Development of the design concept. We try several approaches, work out different combinations and look for a solution that the team and the client would like. The concept of design goes through several stages of discussion within the company's working group.
  4. After agreeing the concept with the client, the entire design is drawn. This includes all pages and their states, UI-kit (a set of elements and their states), animation and interaction elements.
  5. Before we transfer design to layout, we conduct testing within the company and with users, if necessary. We collect a fully interactive prototype design in Invision so that it completely simulates future site. We test not in the format "like it/don’t like it", but we go through all the possible scenarios on the site in order to reveal how easy and clear the user interacts with the interface.
  6. After all the design is drawn and transferred to the layout, the design team does not end up participating. The designer of the project carries out the author's supervision throughout the entire project development process (testing of the layout, testing of the finished project).

Doubts and objections we hear from clients

  • Design is expensive

The development of design is a labor-intensive process, the volume depends on the formulation of the task and the scope of the project. At Evergreen there’s a completely transparent system of formation of the budget for design. Amount of work is estimated by the designer before actual work starts and will not be changed in the process.

  • I can order it from a freelancer at a lower price

The quality of design directly depends on the professionalism and experience of the designer and his approach to work. We carried out more than 100 projects and are confident in our design system, because it is confirmed by international awards. In the company, we are working on a design team, this allows us to generate more fresh ideas and filter unsuccessful approaches.
